I can’t believe this weekend I will be attending the very first Denver Comic Con as media. The excitement level I’m experiencing could be considered as terrifying.
I’m absolutely psyched and cannot wait to for it to open! I’m honored to be a part of this experience and I’m going to admit I’m not a huge comic book geek as I don’t know every single artist nor writer, I’m only able to identify either by their work and not by their name, but I’m happy to see that we do have some cool people coming down such as Wil Wheaton, Kristin Bauer (pam from true blood), Gail Simone (batgirl, deadpool), and Georges Jeanty (gambit, deadpool).
The exhibitor list is lengthy, which means there’ going to be a lot of tables selling lots of sweet things that I can only imagine, however I’m pretty excited for the video game tournaments that will be held!
Foehammer, which is a company that designs custom fight sticks will be there and I’m hoping that they will be showcasing their Skullgirls sticks.
All in all, it’s going to be an amazingly overwhelming experience. I’m bringing my camera with two batteries, and I’ll try to do some live coverage with my cellphone for you, lol. If you want anything special such as questions for certain guests, or certain information, just ask as I’ll do my best.
p.s. lollipop chainsaw giveaway hasn’t been cancelled just postponed til after comic con :)
so i’m making way through my tumblr inbox, feel free to send me your questions at this time so I can get them answered! remember you get 15pts for every inbox question you send if you’re participating in the lollipop chainsaw give away!
I play video games to enjoy them. Whenever I’m in an encounter with video games, I have an idea of what game I want to play but there’s times where I will try to pick something I have no idea without a reason.
I buy a lot of games which makes a huge backlog but I have no problem with this as I know I will always have something else to play. Now what is is considered weird is I will buy games that I don’t like much for example rpgs just to give it a chance because it might be one of the few rpgs I enjoy.
So there’s many times you’ll catch me playing stuff I’m not typically interested in just because I like to have my own experiences. For example I can’t remember what final fantasy game I played but I fucking hated it. I hated everything about it except for I could stare at it for hours, but every time there’s a new final fantasy game I always want to check it out, even though it always ends up being a disaster for me.
However, I’m pretty weird. My boyfriend always asks me how can I beat god of war, batman arkham city, hitman, etc but not little big planet?
All I can do is laugh because I honestly have no answer except for little big planet bores me half way through and I have the attention span of a goldfish, but it’s suppose to be this amazingly awesome fun and somewhat easy game and I just give up within minutes. It’s terrible, but that’s why I try out so many games just because games aren’t one size fits all.
I’ve found out many times that many popular games I just can’t get into very much into, which is fine as I see video games as a personal journey for everyone. We’re all sifting through the good, the bad, and the ugly.
I’m taking a personal moment to say hello to all of you wonderful people. I’m delusional because I’m ridiculously tired from my first day of training for my new job. I’m asking you all to do me a favor and drop me some hilarious lines or jokes or something, lol. THANKS! ?
I’m not a zombie fan at all. I don’t understand people that are obsessed with zombies, zombie apocalypses, and whatever zombie. Although I do admit I only love Call of Duty: Black Ops for the zombies because I believe it is the most fun!
Nonetheless, I’m so fucking excited for Lollipop Chainsaw which is odd for me… I will explain…. I fucking hate zombies, I had stereotypes, and I abhor fan service meaning tons of panty shots and sexual things just thrown in randomly just for the sake of luring men into it. Now I love me some sexy game characters ( Bayonetta is my favorite) but there just comes to a time where it’s like I really want to enjoy the game, anime, whatever and it’s becoming absolutely ridiculous (high school of the dead, hated it).
However I think what captures my attention to Lollipop Chainsaw is that it’s just a fun game. It doesn’t take itself serious and I can’t wait to wield that sweet ass chainsaw and turn the world into a slaughterhouse. They have Tara Strong voicing Juliet so it’s going to be somewhat grand! I mean if you don’t think the abundance of rainbows, glitter, and silly cheers enough. I’m completely excited for this game!
I’ve also committed myself to Bioshock Infinite! The level design is gorgeous and whenever Ken Levine talks about it I’m get super hyped about it! I’m pretty sure I’m going to die a million times over all in one part but it’d be worth it just to explore this game.
Other games I’m waiting for are Hitman: Absolution (this is my favorite series, I’ve played and beaten every Hitman game. Huge fan!); and Devil May Cry HD Collection because I started to get into it but then I started playing Kingdom Hearts and I kind of forgot about it and never quite made it back, but I’m very eager to see how the new Dante works in the DmC reboot.
Then there’s Assassin’s Creed III….. so much to talk about it when it comes to this game. I feel that if you’re a history buff you’re going to be gushing over how this plays out, but I’m going to write about the inside details of this gem in another article as I’m done being exuberant and now want to look for gameplay recording devices, hah!

Don’t get me started! A girl that likes video games?!? Yeah, go ahead and ogle me because that never gets boring nor old just like the sexist comments. Really, it’s not that crazy of an idea. Girls that have to declare that their title is “gamer girl” whenever there are boys around are just as fucking obnoxious. We get it. You’re not like “other” girls. Awesome. Now stfu.
I’ve had an affair with video games ever since I was a little child. I remember wrestling my brother for the Atari controller and always fucking losing. So, I’d just have to sit there and imagine myself playing because he wasn’t letting up anytime soon! Every Christmas I’d get Barbies, and he’d get the latest video game console. Shit was sickening; it was hard to contain my rage.
He went through Ataris, Nintendos, Super Nintendos, Sega Genesis, Dreamcasts, Playstations. As the consoles rolled out the older I became, the closer I also came to employment.
One of my first jobs was as a waitress, and I made hefty tips because of my incredible personality! I remember rushing to my nearest Best Buy and picking up the sexy slim Playstation 2, a copy of Bully and a copy of Kingdom Hearts 2. I did my research on these games before buying them because I don’t have money to waste, and these two had awesome reviews.
At this point of my life I was around 20 years old. I was an unmotivated, uninspired freelance web developer trying to make a breakthrough. I had no new ideas or any idea of where to draw inspiration… and then along came Sora!
I fell in love with both games. I became avid and made a lot of friends as I’m a poor gamer — I had to learn how to trade or become a slick hustler. I learned how to download saving points from my computer then load them on my memory card.
What I didn’t learn is how to be the fastest, smartest killing machine! I realized I don’t play these games like most people do. I play them quite honestly to enjoy them. I like to take notice in the time and effort that was put into the creation of a game… Yeah, I’m the “OooOoh SHINY!” chick. I don’t have the highest score, I can’t beat the shit out of you in any game, I’ve never completed a game without the help of the internet, and I fucking suck at multi-player. Seriously, I’ll advise you to never invite me to play. I’ll never be the amazing “chick gamer” at a video game competition because in all honesty, I love video games but I’m not that dedicated.
Does this mean I’m not a gamer? No, it just means I’m a really shitty gamer! Which is completely fine, but don’t belittle me because I love this industry just as much as you do… Even though you have more trophies than me. ;)
My name is Zelda, and welcome to my nerdom blog! I mostly post fan art, cosplay pictures, etc that relate to video gaming the most, but I also post a lot of things that just relate to nerdom in general which means computers, movies, graphic novels, toys, and whatever else. Keep in mind I do post often!
Since I am considered a video game journalist I will actually be posting articles every once in awhile, but I’ll make sure to include pretty pictures so you’re not bored.
However, as usual I’m always open to questions in regards to things on nerdy subjects, and I try my best to keep the most relevant and freshest information up for everyone!
Once again, thank you all for being a friend and welcome to Hey it’s Zelda! ♥
